I'm not sure what's wrong with it, but it's idling high and then puttering out. #Boondocking at walmart generatorThe further I moved East, the worse it was getting and my generator is acting up. #Boondocking at walmart fullThe Walmart was jam packed full of other RVers and the landscape couldn't be better with the North Fork canyons in the backdrop, large grassy lawns to pull up to and drop the awning, and relax in a chair outside. I ended up staying here for several days to get some work done, rest a bit from driving, and catch up on some sleep. There was no free WiFi however the signal was great, the landscape was beautiful and it had an RV and bus parking area with a beautiful park area to sit in the grass and have lunch and let Lily run around. Unfortunately the WiFi at Walmart wasn't so great and my hotspot, the Verizon Mifi, wasn't getting a strong cell phone signal so off I went around town – first trying to find free WiFi and giving up – then searching for a better cell signal.Īfter an hour of running around town – with my cell phone pointed in all directions when driving – I found a great signal at the Buffalo Bill Visitor Center and Museum in town. Can you imagine what that must have been like?Īfter completing my quest #5, North Fork on the Shoshone, from the National Geographic 300 Scenic Highways & Byways book, I drove into Cody, Wyoming for some overnighting at Walmart – my first of many Walmart boondocking experiences. I imagine then that the beauty was a bit different with untouched wilderness, no roads, no man-made dams, no tidy trails created for us to hike. Out here in these lands, straight out of a Western movie, I always imagine the first people who came across these lands and how awe struck they must have been.
